Arthritis can be treated, experts say
Many people who suffer from arthritis take the attitude that their joint pain is simply an unavoidable consequence of aging.
Many people who suffer from arthritis take the attitude that their joint pain is simply an unavoidable consequence of aging. However, experts say this is not true, and that a prescription to buy Celebrex or another medication may stop the progression of the disease and make the pain more tolerable. "No one should ever be told, 'It's just arthritis,' or that they should just live with it," Dr. Vivian Bykerk, a rheumatologist at the Hospital for Special Surgery in New York, told ABC News. "It's a rare person whom we can't get feeling better." She added that there are many different treatments available to arthritis patients. Some may benefit from pharmaceutical approaches, like a prescription to buy Celebrex, while others may respond better to joint-replacement surgery. Either way, the important thing for individuals to remember is that arthritis is treatable and there is no reason why a person should live with the pain associated with the condition without seeking treatment. This may benefit the 50 million U.S. adults who suffer from an arthritic condition, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. |
