If you're taking Lovenox, you may also want to try out some different exercises that help to prevent deep vein thrombosis (DVT). When paired with the proper lifestyle changes, you can prevent blood clots from forming in key areas. Most of the workouts are easy to master, and some of the top motions for avoiding DVT include:

Calf stretch
Using the back of a chair to keep yourself sturdy, hold on with both hands. Start with your right foot and take a step backward. Keeping the leg straight, press your heel to the floor so that you feel your calf stretching. This may require that you allow your left leg to bend slightly. Hold for 15 to 30 seconds before switching legs.

Shoulder rolls
Grab that chair and take a seat. While sitting up straight, roll your shoulders in a circular motion. You can do so by lifting them up gently and then moving them backward, down and up. Do these movements in the same direction for 30 seconds before reversing forward.

Knee lifts
Remain seated in your chair for this exercise. All you need to do is keep your leg bent as you left one at a time toward your chest. Slowly take your foot back down to the ground before repeating with the other leg. You may want to place one hand under your thigh for added support and comfort.

Foot pumps
Sitting in the chair with your feet flat on the ground, raise both of your heels. Hold the position for 3 seconds, and then rest your heels back on the ground. From there, lift the balls of your feet off of the floor and toward you. This should be held for another 3 seconds before returning to the starting position.

Ankle circles
Still in your seated position, lift both feet off of the ground and turn them in circles at the ankle. After 15 seconds, reverse directions and then repeat the whole routine.

Hamstring stretch
Ditch the chair for this exercise and lay down on the floor. Take your right leg in both hands, and raise those toes to the sky. Try to straighten your knee as much as you can, although this will be difficult at first. Hold for 15 to 30 seconds before lowering your leg back to the ground. Repeat with the left leg.
