Licensed and distributed by Genentech/Roche, Boniva contains Ibandronate Sodium and forms part of the group of medicines known as bisphosphonates. It is designed to alter the body's way of forming and breaking down bone, slowing down loss and increasing bone mass to reduce the risk of fracture.

How to take Boniva?

Prescribing Boniva

Typical side effects of Boniva are headaches, diarrhea, flu-like symptoms, redness of the eyes and nausea. Other, more serious, side effects include, but are not limited to, discomfort in the chest, difficulty swallowing, heartburn, severe joint, bone or muscle pain, discomfort and pain in the thigh and hip and numbness in the jaw. Immediate medical advice must be sought in the event of any of these or other symptoms being experienced.
